Originally from Australia, Sandy Imeson is a third generation furniture maker with skills in furniture restoration, bespoke furniture design and making and wood working – to name a but few of the creative pursuits Sandy busies himself with. Sandy studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and now runs a workshop in the haven of Stoke Newington, London where many of his clients are based.
Sandy has always been interested in sustainable design and now focuses on working with recycled and found objects to minimize his impact on the environment. Something he enjoys about using found objects and restoring furniture are the stories and history embedded within objects.
Wood is one of his favourite materials to work with – he speaks about the warmth that timber has, which grows warmer with age.
The video about Sandy was produced and directed by Lou – a video production specialist based in East London. Seven Wooden Ladders is Lou’s production business.
