You know when you really want something specific made but don’t have the time or skills to do it yourself? Or you  just can’t find the right thing? Or your looking for something special, but don’t quite know what it is? That’s the idea behind Handkrafted. The company was founded by Fred Kimel and Phil Martin and was borne out of a shared passion for quality and authenticity. Frustrated with the poor quality of mass-produced goods so commonly available, they have set out to make better quality, custom craftsmanship more accessible to everyone. The launch has focused on woodworkers, however the long term vision for Handkrafted is to be a place where many types of makers can be found and commissioned  to make beautiful pieces to order.

One such maker is Evan Hughes, a Sydney-based Furniture and Homewares Designer and Maker. Evan has a strong background in residential carpentry and joinery, working with wood has always been a part of his life. His pieces are simple and minimal, created with both reclaimed timber and timber from sustainable growers.
